Holiday Work Function - Linkup

We are excited that today kick-starts a month of linking up with FitFashLife!

This week's posts are all about the office holiday party. Regardless if you want to learn how to glam up your outfit without going too overboard; or if you need some ideas on how to create a memorable work event, we have you covered.

So lets get this party started with our first outfit of the month!
Holiday Work Function

Oasis dress, $73 / H&M short jacket, $56 / GAP opaque tight / ASOS high heels / Clutch handbag / White pearl earrings

Excited about my first link-up post with Event19!

After working with a company, building relationships and a certain respect, you want to uphold that even after a "crazy" Holiday party. You don't want to show up to this partaay with all the higher ups, in a skimpy/hoochie-momma tube dress. I chose a modest yet fun dress. To winterize it, I added tights and metal cap-toe booties. Sequins are so IN now I had to pick this fun H&M jacket. Adding pops of red make it Holiday ready!! So, drink away...and don't feel like you'll have a boob slip or crotch shot in front of your boss! This outfit has you covered!

Feel free to check out my blog for more outfit ideas!!

Happy Holidays!

Christmas Card Overload

It's almost unbelievable that December starts this weekend, and you know what that means: Christmas is right around the corner. Have you decided what kind of holiday card you're going to send out? We don't need to tell you that there are hundreds of options out there--how do you choose?

Don't have a lot of time on your hands? Make it simple and pick a generic card (maybe one from Paperless Post) and sign your name at the bottom. We don't blame you; life is crazy enough.

Have a little bit more time on your hands? Then why not customize your card with a family photo. You can either hire a photographer or take your own picture. You can also hire someone to design your card... or do it yourself by using a website like snapfish or shutterfly.

Want to make homemade cards? All you need is some construction paper, scissors, glue and ribbon.

Whatever you choose to do, just make sure to have fun with it!

It's a Party!

Today is Black Friday, so while most of you were off getting the best deal on the latest "it" item, we were getting ready to host a party...a linkup-party that is. And who are we having this bash with? Lori Capel from FitFashLife!

We first found out about Lori when we were looking for some inspiration on what to wear to yet another event. We were tired of wearing the same old "classic" look, so we reached out to Lori to see if she could help liven up some of the existing outfits we already had. And man did she work her magic. She showed us how to mix and match items to give them a little flair (who knew a polka-dot dress would go well with leopard shoes), how to add color without being too bold, and how accessories really do make the outfit. She also gave us some tips on what "staple" items are an absolute must. Oh and other than being a great style and wardrobe consultant, she is genuinely a fun down to earth gal. We LOVE reading her blog and learning about the latest recipe, workout routines, fashion advise, or whatever.

So over the next month, we will be swapping ideas on how to impress your family and friends during the holiday season. Regardless if you are having a party and need some tips on how to be the hostess with the mostess, or if are going to an event where you need that WOW outfit, we have you covered. So sit back, relax, and let us do all the work for you :-)

Thanksgiving Table Made Easy

We can’t believe that in a week – yes, you heard right, one week – it will be Thanksgiving! It seems like just yesterday we were sitting around in our shorts, wondering what to dish up at the next BBQ. Now, we are busy decorating our homes, getting ready for that beloved day of turkey and all the fixings.

No matter if you are having a small gathering or a house full of people, you need to prepare… and not the night before. Do you have your to-do list set? Do you even know what to put on your to-do list (don’t worry; most people sit and stare at that blank piece of paper, waiting for an epiphany)?

One thing that should defiantly be on your list is how to set the table. Why is this so important? Think about it: what is the main activity on Thanksgiving? Oh that’s right, you sit around the table with your family and friends, eating, talking, laughing, etc. Since the Thanksgiving table is such priority, here are a few key items to consider/decide:

How many people can you fit around the table?
Do you need more than one table?
Do you prefer a formal or casual setting?
Do you want to have a separate kids’ table?
Do you want the food to be placed on the table or a buffet?

Once you have made these decisions, you can start to have fun and be creative. Pick up some festive table linens, napkins, dinnerware, and/or place cards to dress up your table.

Check out some of these savory examples.
