Glamorous New Years Eve Party- Linkup

Welcome to our final holiday linkup edition with FitFashLife, which we decided to end with the glitz and glam of New Year's Eve...Enjoy!
NYE Party Attire

Zara short dress / LOFT lace bootie / Clutch purse / Bracelets jewelry / Charlotte Russe ball earrings

For our last December linkup, what better way to bring in the New Year than with a Glamorous New Years Eve Party!

I chose this peplum dress because it can be worn for many different occasions.  I'm all about getting double and triple use out of items.  Dress it up or down and for $80 from Zara, this is def a winner!  I found these fun lace booties from The Loft and something about them screams sexy/fun.  I'm loving charcoal and mint together, the dark background really makes the jewelry pop. Add a smokey eye with some light sparkle (age appropriate) and you will be the HOT hostess that everyone wonders... "How does she do it?"

Side note: You can even wear this dress to work, add a blazer and tights and work appropriate booties and statement necklace, G2G! (good to go).

Hope you enjoyed our linkup!  If you're looking for more style ideas or have an item that doesn't seem to go with anything feel free to visit me at FitFashLife or shoot me an email!

Happy Holidays!

Xmas Basic Black and Brown- Linkup

Happy Friday Everyone! This week's linkup is all about (yes, you guessed it) Christmas! From what to wear on Christmas day to last minutes Christmas tips, which are featured on FitFashLife, we have you covered. To sit back, relax, and read on.

Xmas basics

Sheer dress / Belted coat / GAP tall legging / Etienne Aigner shoes / Hobo handbag / White House Black Market clip earrings / GUESS

This week's linkup, we're talking about what to wear Xmas day.  In my family, we either get together later in the day, or the following weekend.

I'm starting to be ok with black and brown together.  At first, I wasn't into it, but it's starting to grow on me.  Xmas red studs and hobo bag and your instantly festive.  If you're doing a lot of eating, leggings are your best bet.  You don't have to wear a sweater dress, pick an oversized T and long cardigan for an even more comfy look.
Xmas is in 4 days!!!!! crazy!  Where did December go!?!

Well enjoy and be sure to check back next Friday for a HOT New Years Eve look and final linkup!  If you need some options in the meantime, come check out FitFashLife

Kids Holiday Party - Linkup

We're back at it, with our third linkup posting this month with FitFashLife What's on the agenda today? Kids! Even though we love them to pieces, we sometimes struggle with what's the best outfit to wear when we want to look cute, but know we are going to be knee deep in toys; or what type of activity to have at the party to keep them (happily) entertained. But don't worry, we have solved the puzzle! So keep reading for some great outfit ideas and visit FitFashLife for some fun kid friendly activities (ones that even the adults won't mind helping out with).
Kid's Holiday Party

Mink Pink Sheer shirt / GAP tall pants / Calvin Klein Jeans ballet flat / Charlotte Russe ballet flat / White House Black Market set of bangle / Kate Spade stacking bangle / Kendra Scott earrings / LOFT knitted scarve / Kendra Scott Minnie Earrings Forest Jade - Zappos.com Free Shipping...

This weeks linkup we're suggesting what to wear to the Holiday parties, keeping in mind there will be tons of kinds at the party. That might not mean anything to you if you're the type of adult that just kicks back on the couch and watch's the game, or chat it up with the other adults. But, if you are the type like me, to take some time to roll around on the floor with the kiddos or do some arts and crafts, you want to keep that in mind when picking out your outfit.

Flats are a must for comfort, but they still can be fun! Keeping on trend, I mixed prints, leopard and polka-dots. Found a budget friendly blouse option at Target (on right). (Throw on a long cardigan or blazer if you are chilly). I made it "Holiday" friendly by adding a red infinity scarf and my fav Kendra Scott earrings. Let's discuss the term infinity scarf for a sec. Some people call in a snood, like back in the day. But that's just a disgusting name, so infinity scarf it will be for good! Because it's my blog, The end!

Hope you enjoyed this week's linkup! If you care to check out more outfit options, come on by FitFashLife

Holiday Party with Friends - Linkup

Welcome to our second linkup posting with FitFashLife. This week is all about having the option to be a bit outside the box when planning your next "friends only" holiday party.

So keep reading if you want to learn how to be a bit more daring with your outfit and check out FitFashLife for some tips on how to throw a Naughty and Nice Party.

Holiday party with Friends

Next up, throwing a fun holiday party with friends? Here is where you can sex things up a bit. Show off those arms with a sleeveless dress, wear a shorter skirt. This dress is the best of both worlds, and it's $40 from JC Penney! You read that right, $40 hollarrrrrr! Keeping along the metal and black lines, these tassel earrings and metal cap toe pumps go perfectly. Add a bright red lip and you are the hostess with the mostess!!!

Holiday Work Function - Linkup

We are excited that today kick-starts a month of linking up with FitFashLife!

This week's posts are all about the office holiday party. Regardless if you want to learn how to glam up your outfit without going too overboard; or if you need some ideas on how to create a memorable work event, we have you covered.

So lets get this party started with our first outfit of the month!
Holiday Work Function

Oasis dress, $73 / H&M short jacket, $56 / GAP opaque tight / ASOS high heels / Clutch handbag / White pearl earrings

Excited about my first link-up post with Event19!

After working with a company, building relationships and a certain respect, you want to uphold that even after a "crazy" Holiday party. You don't want to show up to this partaay with all the higher ups, in a skimpy/hoochie-momma tube dress. I chose a modest yet fun dress. To winterize it, I added tights and metal cap-toe booties. Sequins are so IN now I had to pick this fun H&M jacket. Adding pops of red make it Holiday ready!! So, drink away...and don't feel like you'll have a boob slip or crotch shot in front of your boss! This outfit has you covered!

Feel free to check out my blog for more outfit ideas!!

Happy Holidays!

Christmas Card Overload

It's almost unbelievable that December starts this weekend, and you know what that means: Christmas is right around the corner. Have you decided what kind of holiday card you're going to send out? We don't need to tell you that there are hundreds of options out there--how do you choose?

Don't have a lot of time on your hands? Make it simple and pick a generic card (maybe one from Paperless Post) and sign your name at the bottom. We don't blame you; life is crazy enough.

Have a little bit more time on your hands? Then why not customize your card with a family photo. You can either hire a photographer or take your own picture. You can also hire someone to design your card... or do it yourself by using a website like snapfish or shutterfly.

Want to make homemade cards? All you need is some construction paper, scissors, glue and ribbon.

Whatever you choose to do, just make sure to have fun with it!

It's a Party!

Today is Black Friday, so while most of you were off getting the best deal on the latest "it" item, we were getting ready to host a party...a linkup-party that is. And who are we having this bash with? Lori Capel from FitFashLife!

We first found out about Lori when we were looking for some inspiration on what to wear to yet another event. We were tired of wearing the same old "classic" look, so we reached out to Lori to see if she could help liven up some of the existing outfits we already had. And man did she work her magic. She showed us how to mix and match items to give them a little flair (who knew a polka-dot dress would go well with leopard shoes), how to add color without being too bold, and how accessories really do make the outfit. She also gave us some tips on what "staple" items are an absolute must. Oh and other than being a great style and wardrobe consultant, she is genuinely a fun down to earth gal. We LOVE reading her blog and learning about the latest recipe, workout routines, fashion advise, or whatever.

So over the next month, we will be swapping ideas on how to impress your family and friends during the holiday season. Regardless if you are having a party and need some tips on how to be the hostess with the mostess, or if are going to an event where you need that WOW outfit, we have you covered. So sit back, relax, and let us do all the work for you :-)

Thanksgiving Table Made Easy

We can’t believe that in a week – yes, you heard right, one week – it will be Thanksgiving! It seems like just yesterday we were sitting around in our shorts, wondering what to dish up at the next BBQ. Now, we are busy decorating our homes, getting ready for that beloved day of turkey and all the fixings.

No matter if you are having a small gathering or a house full of people, you need to prepare… and not the night before. Do you have your to-do list set? Do you even know what to put on your to-do list (don’t worry; most people sit and stare at that blank piece of paper, waiting for an epiphany)?

One thing that should defiantly be on your list is how to set the table. Why is this so important? Think about it: what is the main activity on Thanksgiving? Oh that’s right, you sit around the table with your family and friends, eating, talking, laughing, etc. Since the Thanksgiving table is such priority, here are a few key items to consider/decide:

How many people can you fit around the table?
Do you need more than one table?
Do you prefer a formal or casual setting?
Do you want to have a separate kids’ table?
Do you want the food to be placed on the table or a buffet?

Once you have made these decisions, you can start to have fun and be creative. Pick up some festive table linens, napkins, dinnerware, and/or place cards to dress up your table.

Check out some of these savory examples.
